Why does soda make that sizzle sound when it hasn’t been opened in a while?

Sodas are carbonated. Basically carbon dioxide gas is mixed with water using pressure. When the pressure is relieved the gas will be slowly released. This release will eventually cause pressure build up inside the bottle because gasses want to expand. When you open the cap all that pressure is relieved.
