Why does sometimes when you delete an app from your phone to open up space but when you try to download same thing you deleted it says “not enough space”

Updates to the app increase it’s size as well as the fact that you have to download the install file AND installing the program before the install file is deleted. This causes a temporary increase in drive space needed.
