Why does the Google search engine show the movie/tv show/video game version of a thing before the actual thing?

Some examples: When I google “arrow”, I get results about the TV show Arrow instead of the pointy sticks used in archery. When I google “cars” I get Cars the movie before I get cars the vehicle. If I google “rainbow” I get Rainbow the clothing store before I get the pretty sky colours. I don’t remember this being case a year a go – what changed?

Ads are at the top and whatever is trending will follow. They have their way of calculating things but if everyone starts searching a term, it’ll start ranking higher on the list
E.g. go to google now and type ‘doge’. It will all be about doge cryotocurrency and not the actual doge meme

The more popular a thing is, the more it will be shown. Say you want to know the meaning of the word inception so you Google the word inception. Since a lot more people search for Inception (the movie) than inception (the word), Google will show you information about Inception the movie. You’ll have to be more specific like “definition of inception” to get your desired result.
