Your ears have three circular tubes filled with fluid. When you move around and change orientation this fluid moves around, which is sensed by tiny hairs inside the tubes. This is what allows you to sense your orientation, balance, whether you are standing or lying, etc.

When you’re dizzy it means that something is interfering with the signal from your ears to your brain. Your brain misinterprets that signal and thinks you are spinning.
