Why does tickling make us laugh?

Tickling is a sort of play “fighting”. People wouldn’t really feel comfortable tickling each other if it didn’t make each other laugh. There used to be a strong evolutionary pressure to train to defend your weak points. Those are your ticklish spots. Neck, armpits, sides, belly. We need to defend them so we need to train to defend them as children. It helps if that training is perceived as fun.
