Why does whiteboard marker become hard to erase if it stands in the whiteboard for a few days, and why are some colors easier to clean in than others in such a case?

The solvent in the marker has evaporated thus its not so easy to erase. Same reason you can use new marker on top of it to erase old marker or sharpie from a whiteboard
