Why does your nose start running when it gets cold

I work in 0 degrees for work and my nose is like a faucet and I don’t understand the benefit or reasoning to why my nose just runs and when I blow my nose it’s like water and it’s clear.
Sorry to gross ya out xD

This is because our nose tries to warm and humidify the air we breath in.since, it travels into our lungs.
Because this cold air we are breathing in is dry our nose tries to moisten this dry cold air by releasing excess mucus or fluid to protect our lungs.
