One reason Tesla is doing so well is verticals integration.
All other car makers have a hodgepodge of components slapped together by the lowest bidder to make a car. Most don’t use the same language, and have to be controlled by physical buttons, and by controlling the power supply. Also the power is a 12 volt battery, reducing the ability to have too many systems. Tesla uses a 48 volt battery as its low voltage battery.
Adding a dash cam to any car besides Tesla, and maybe Rivian, creates a logistics nightmare that no one wants to deal with.
