Why fast things look so slow when filmed

I’ve been watching some sprints from various Olympics to pass the time recently and as fast as I know the athletes are running (from the timer and how much effort they are clearing giving), but when filmed it just doesn’t look very fast.

I’ve noticed this in cycling and car racing as well. I’ve been to a few of these races and when you’re there it’s incredibly blink-and-you’ll-miss-it fast, but when filmed, it always looks slower, regardless of how fast you know it is. What is going on here to make us see it like this?

Because they usually track the fast moving objects when filmed.
So the object seems like kind of “stationary” because its always for example in the middle of the frame.
