there’s an old quote from a rally driver: an f1 driver sees the same corner 1000 times. a rally driver sees 1000 corners once.

in formula 1, nascar, australian V8 supercars, btcc etc. the drivers know the tracks, they get practice laps, corners are marked and often visible. in rally, you dont get any of that. most of the courses are public roads, and the routes change every year. then there’s the fact that they’re doing 100km/h+ on roads that usually have a speed 65 max.
