: Why is 4K footage of a game bigger than the game itself?

1.18K views

For example, The Last Of Us Part II is near 100 GB, but if I record the whole game (20 hours or so) in 4K, that video will be like 200-250 GB.

Can anyone explain why?

Because the game is like a book of instructions and the the footage is like taking continuous photos of the book with it different folds of angles for an hour (video is just massive amount of stills). The prints would create a very big pile.
