Why is a password manager a good idea? If someone gets the password to the password manager account, they have access to all my accounts.

The biggest pushback people have about password managers is the “all your eggs in one basket” problem. To solve that problem you can just [pepper your important passwords](https://passwordbits.com/salting-passwords/). With this solution, there is no excuse to not use a password manager.
