Why is Apple’s Magsafe is praised so much while Microsoft’s Surface Connect charger is so hated?

The surface charger is vertically oriented, and the magnets are super weak. At least for me, having the cable hanging down, it would dislodge easily. If I reverse it, the connection is more secure (I guess cause the weight of the cable pushes down on the connector) but that puts stress of the cable and it ends up fraying

The MagSafe is a better design. I use a wireless charger to charge my earbuds, but I don’t like using it to charge my phone with it for a few reasons. My phone needs to be on it perfectly within a few mm. My earbuds do to, but they fit better on the pad. I’m more likely to move my phone around and then need to place it back, and, if my earbuds are dead, no big deal. If my phone is dead, there goes 99% of my communication abilities.

They MagSafe has a solid feeling connection to the phone and it’s less likely to accidentally disconnect. It lets you use wireless charging with cord confidence.
