I had a triple bypass 6 weeks ago. I was also diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I did it to myself. I had quit some bad lifestyle choices but the damage was done. I’m really motivated to make the lifestyle changes my cardiologist has told me to make. All that said both my cardiologist and heart surgeon told me even if I do everything right I could need another bypass in 20 or so years. There is no cure for heart disease, just managing it with lifestyle and medication. I’m in my late 40s (too young for the problems I have) and am going to work my ass off and try like hell because I do not want to go through this again.
