There have been some studies that say that visible light in the range of blue affects our circadian rhythm, which is our internal clock. The idea is that it might make you less tired before bed which can be annoying. My understanding is that this is a relatively new scientific trend that doesn’t have boatloads of evidence so I would tread carefully. More info will probably arise in the coming years.
Also just staring at something that’s only like a foot away from your face can get tiring/feel a bit painful after a while, which is why its always good to take a little break and look away. Anecdotally, I had to take a 6 hour exam on a computer back in August so I would occasionally take 30 seconds to just tilt my head up and stare at the ceiling to give my eyes a rest.
Specifically the blue light from a computer monitor is on the the part of the light spectrum that casts a glare because of how it flickers. This glare makes things look less clear and sharp so your eyes strain trying to focus and make it clear again. Think of people who need glasses trying to read without them and they squint, it causes eye strain and can give you a headache / cause fatigue.
