If people know that they can just wait and the company will give away clothing and cosmetics, they will be less likely to spend money on them. Even if it’s not many people who would do this, a lot of companies fear that their customers wouldn’t spend as much money if they knew that unsold merchandise would be given away rather than destroyed.

Like the other answer said, if people knew about this they will wait for them to be gifted rather than spend money for them specially brands like Gucci or the one that made a brick where the user base is mostly people that wants to look like they have money.

If u give it to homeless they will most likely be robbed by wannabe people and some people will join shelters in hope they can grab something for free

If I know of can purchase those items for x amount of dollars now, or just wait a week or two and get the same item for free, why wouldn’t I just wait?

I disagree with most responses is more because they believe that if their item id in a homeless person it will devalue the brand also they generally destroy become the item didn’t sell as expected in x amount of time so they destroy to maintain the number limited and the price inflated
