The wind causes water/sweat/liquid to evaporatewhich creates a change in temperature (can’t remember which way)

So now you have 2 sets of info:

Wind hitting finger

Finger getting colder

Two points of info gives more confidence than one

When a liquid evaporates from liquid to gas this process consumes energy, as in it removes heat from the liquid, so it gets colder. So if your finger is uniformly wet and you put it up in the air the side getting blown than the wind will evaporate faster than the other side because it comes into contact with more air, which has more capacity to cause evaporation, so the side that gets colder is the side that the wind is coming from.
