As humans we spent most of our existence working with drawing, visuals, ect. Speech and words are very recent and our brains are not as adept at storing the information.

As someone who does a few instruction courses in a particular field, one of our handbooks talks about the way different people learn so we have to adjust to the way various students take in information. One particular way is not universal. Some do best with reading at their own pace, some with verbal explanation and some, myself included, want visual representations, sketches, diagrams, mode!s and so on. It’s probably due to the differences in the way the brain processes incoming information in different people.
