Why is it generally not recommended to burn waxed cardboard in a fireplace because of chemicals released, but companies like Enviro-log are recycled waxed cardboard and claim they burn cleaner than wood?

I came across someone saying they don’t use firewood anymore, they only use “recycled wax cardboard logs. Cheaper, cleaner and more economical.” Out of curiosity, I googled “recycled wax cardboard logs” and got [mixed search results](https://i.imgur.com/2wL8aJ9.jpg), some saying you should never burn cardboard pretreated with wax as there can be toxic fumes, and then others saying waxed cardboard logs are the cleanest burning thing in the world. What’s the truth?
