It is not that it’s hard or costly, but that we are used to water being incredibly cheap and easy to get.
Its not hard, but its expensive. Very energy intensive. Gotta boil the water to separate it from the salt. Think of how long it takes your kettle to boil, and then multiply that by enough water for thousands of people
