Why is it so difficult (impossible?) to perfectly re-roll a roll of toilet paper that has become unraveled?

I get that the individual rolls are probably cut from longer spools (rolls aren’t individually rolled).

Because tiny imperfections get amplified. If one side is only slightly off, it spirals. And imperfections in Re rolling are so easy to get because it’s hard to pull all regions at the same tension and keeping the roll perfectly oriented while doing it. I supposed of you use an axle that fits the roll perfectly and is perfectly horizontal and then roll it while holding the unrolled tp in a slit between two cylinders that are spaced apart perfectly and are parallel to your axle, you should get the reroll practically perfectly?
