As the title says, why is it so loud after it rains? I feel like after or during rain I can hear every car on the road in a 3 mile radius. Sound seems to travel farther and I can even hear people talking down the road.

I suppose the flip side would be the quiet after it snows….I’m guessing snow absorbs more sound?
