The wrinkles are called cortical folds, which increase the surface area of the brain. The outer layer of the brain is actually where the neurons are, the internal parts of the brain are neuron connections, the rest of the grey matter, the internal “organs” (not actually), and gloopy stuff.
Having more surface area means more neurons, meaning there can be more of you.
