Why is the sea blue when seen from space?

The ocean looks blue for the same reason the sky looks blue from the ground. Sunlight is scattered when it spreads through a medium like water or air. Blue light has a short wavelength so it gets refracted the least. Red light has the largest visible wavelength so it mostly gets absorbed.
