Why is there no “birth control” for men? Women have multiple options; pill, IUD, etc. But for men, we only have options like a vasectomy or condoms, spermicide lube. Is there a reason why there hasn’t been a “birth control pill” for men?

There isn’t a call for it. It has always bern seen as a female’s responsibility. The man doesn’t get pregnant, why should he have to take a pill every day? We saw something of this effect recently in the US when, in the past month or so that Roe vs Wade was overturned, the number of vasectomies skyrocketed. Why? They were always available and tubal ligation (preventing a woman from ever being pregnant again) is a serious surgery with a long recovery time and so much more invasive than an outpatient vasectomy that you can return to work the same day.

People will say, oh, they tried to make make bc but it caused a heart murmur/issue in some men so it was scrapped and never tried again. That would make sense except that 1. Viagra can also cause heart problems as well as serious and often irreversible eye issues. 2. Birth control kills women constantly from blood clots, suicide, ectopic pregnancy and I could go on.
