Why isn’t Italics texting or Bold texting available in any of the smartphones?

Italics and Bold texting are not available in smartphones because they are not part of the language used to write text messages. Text messages are usually written in plain text, which does not support the use of italics or bold formatting.
Some apps like Whatsapp have bold and italics available. You just have to type you text between asterisks or underscores with no space between the symbol and the first letter (eg: `hello *bold*`)
SMS/MMS literally can’t support it natively, so it would have to be implemented as an extension to specific messaging apps. Messaging apps that wouldn’t recognize it would result in a lot of nonsense symbols being displayed.
