Why isn’t there a machine capable of crocheting, when so many machines can knit?

Long story short, price. There’s some myth that a machine can’t crochet because it’s too hard which is just untrue. It is true that there isn’t a crochet machine but that’s just because it would be complicated to the point of being excessively expensive. Basically nobody wants to build or maintain one since far cheaper machines are already used for knitting and other fabric methods.

If a market for crochet goods exploded and the price shot up like crazy while consumer demand also skyrocketed you would see someone make a crochet machine.
