A friend told me that with the current engineering we cannot send a satellite to the sun (just reaching it, not survival) because we would have to nullify the velocity of earth with respect to the sun. I’m not sure I understand and not sure if that is true.
Satellite to the sun: Sitting in a car travelling 60 mph, trying to hit a Bullseye with a dart when the target is facing away from you when you throw it.
Satellite outside the solar system: Literally throw the dart out of the car and not hit anything before it hits the ground.
