I know very few actually do, but it seems so unpopular decision it can’t be without reason

I’ve heard greenhouse effect is very good at heat preservation

There was a fad in 1800s to install a greenhouse against side of one’s house and grow food/flowers there. Problem was effective ventilation of it plus thermal stress on construction of the house due to one wall (or part of it) being warmer than other walls. Fad didn’t survive past WW1. You can still find houses with those in Ontario but they are major PITA to maintain.

BTW-some guy in Sweden did build a greenhouse around his home. He had a channel on YT with very nice videos. He lives in northern part of Sweden as I recall.
