So I saw a AITA post regarding a guy not knowing he was supposed to clean the tub and wanted to ask for more information. So, from what I see in our shower, it seems like it’s usually pretty clean. I don’t see dirt, flaking, mold, or anything like that. But from what I googled and read from the ATLA post, you’re supposed to be cleaning the tub regularly. I would think when you’re getting a hot shower, it would just kill the germs and any grime you had on you would go down the drain. Is this not the case?

Residual oils from the body are not fully washed away by showering. Additionally oils and chemicals in the products you use in the shower can stick to the material of the shower space (vinyls, tile, etc) and over time, they will attract dust, skin, etc from the air and from your body.
