Cold dry air comes in from the Rockies, Canada, and Alaska.

Warm wet air comes in from the Gulf of Mexico.

The Great Plains are flat as hell, great for building momentum.

The Jetstream in the USA goes right through The Great Plains, so momentum is being built all the time.

All of these combining together means the middle of the USA gets a train ran on it by strong thunder storms and tornadoes.

The United Kingdom actually has more tornadoes per square mile than the United States. It’s just that the US is so big that it’s going to have more extreme weather events than smaller countries.
