I have no idea but i think it’s because they act sorta like small radiators (i know elephatns do this)

Typically when one ear is burining hot and red, it’s a sign of your body fighting an infection (Like a cold/flu, or something else)

There is a condition called red ear syndrome that causes one or both ears the get red and hot. Otherwise I could be an ear infection.

One time one of my ears went all fire engine red and was very warm. My brother-in-law (a doctor) said it was likely some sort of allergic reaction.
I don’t know if he was right… but he seemed confident.
