Because the baby and the womb owner don’t even have to be related! In a surrogate mother situation, the womb is provided by a third person, who is neither mother nor father by dna line. So the blood type of baby vs womb owner is irrelevant.

Now you ask why if mom dna + dad dna can make a baby blood type that’s not mom dna? Simple. Cause of dad dna.

Because it is determined by both the mothers and fathers genes. During pregnancy the mother doesn’t directly supply blood to the baby, the nutrients are transported from the mothers blood to the babies blood through a semipermeable membrane.
