Magnets. How do they work?

The earth is spinning on an axis.

In the center of the earth is the earth’s core which is basically a big spinning ball of molten iron.

This big ball creates a magnetic field along the direction that it spins.

The pols are at the top or bottom of the axis. Think of the magnetic field kind of like an apple. While it is round, there is a point at the top where the stem is, and at the bottom where the flower was. Those are the earth’s poles.

Giant ball of molten iron rotating at the core of the planet generates our defensive shields and powers your compass.
