How did you kill it?
If you killed it with some kind of bug spray, then it’s possible that the toxin/poison from that spray is still on the wasp or on the surface around it, that when other wasps landed they picked it up and died.
Another possibility is that if there’s a hive of wasps nearby, depending on the species of wasps, some species actually carry their dead away from the hive and drop them off. So wasps moving other dead wasps might have picked up on the chemical signals of the dead wasp you killed, and dropped off the dead wasps they were carrying because they figured that’s where dead wasps go.
How did you kill the first wasp?
If you sprayed it with a systemic insecticide then the body will be contaminated. If other wasps approached the body then they could have been killed by that residue.
