He personally was also approached specifically because he married a British loyalist woman who had contacts with British officers. Meaning the British could speak directly with Arnold through his wife.
There’s also a variety of other speculation about why he personally may have been more likely to betray the Americans, such as being slighted for promotion by the continental congress. But a lot of that is just speculation.
