Why white and colored glass bottles cannot be recycled together, or the same way?

The resulting glass would be tinted green. For some products this doesn’t matter but a lot of brands want all their products to look exactly the same. Separating colors of glass makes clear recycled glass possible. Recycled materials are in competition with non-recycled ones so the more usable and convenient for the manufacturer the better. Recycling every discarded bottle on earth would be a waste of time if the resulting glass wasn’t usable by industry because it would still end up in a landfill.
