why with all of the advances in the phone industry most phone batteries don’t hold for long ?

You can still get decent phones with good batteries. My Moto will hold up for 3 days at least, while I see other people having to charge their phone at least 3 times per day. I am not looking forward to having to ‘upgrade’ to an inferior phone. Luckily this $100 bargain beast seems far from needing an upgrade.
3 days still isn’t that great compared to the flip-phones that’d last two weeks on a charge, and 10 years until they were too obsolete, but phones do a lot more now. So you kind of have to expect them to give out sooner.
