I recently was able to upgrade my AC wifi card to an AX210 card and i can confirm that Wifi 6 is working fine.

AC and AX uses the same frequency bands, so the antennas are actually more or less the same. What would require a change is going from a normal omnidirectional radio to one that does MIMO/beamforming, which requires multiple antennas, but that is a technology only really seen on the access point side and those don’t feature swappable parts.
