I’ve got into networking and couldn’t understand this topology. Can anyone explain and help me understand?

Thank you 🙂

Note that it does not have a definition that everyone agrees to. But most take it to mean a topology where the Access Points communicate with each other over wifi, and cabled network where available, and negotiate among themselves where to route the traffic. An access point can therefore act as a stand alone access point or a repeater to any of the neighbouring access points depending on signal conditions and what type of traffic is on the network.

Basically it’s when you want a network but don’t have everything physically connected to the central internet but instead have a bunch of things like wifi routers that are on the same network but not actually wired together. In a normal mesh, there is a physical connection between routers, but in a wireless mesh, they’re the same network but not actually touching. It works in larger examples like if you have a satellite connecting different areas that don’t have any actual wires running between them.
