They’ve been using em for a long time now. You take an RC car, armor it, toss a camera or a claymore on top, and drive it out to do recon or remote detonation. Problem is, there’s very little a model car can do that a sufficiently sneaky person can’t do better.
The drone, on the other hand, breaks a whole lot of barriers that a sufficiently sneaky person can’t overcome easily, such as dropping in from 800′ or flying over a wall or building for a cleaner strike
