with the advent of drones and UAV, why are land based drones are not yet in widespread use?

It is extremely easy to navigate an aerial drone. You basically just point it in the direction you want to go and that’s it.
On the ground you need to navigate around obstacles, avoid surfaces that might bog you down, not fall into holes, etc.
