Constantly see makeup companies in stores on sell like 6 shades with the darkest being a light tan, then again I’m tired and probably overthinking it

Don’t underestimate the irrationality of a few old, white decisionmakers. We’re taught to think that the market always provides products where there’s a demand, like it’s a natural law, but in the end human beings make decisions. The outrageous success of Fenty is proof that every other makeup company was just plain missing a huge market

And on the other hand there’s people for who the lightest shade is too dark. I guess that’s the answer to your question. Big companies sell median products that will be bought by the majority of people, because it guarantees them the most profit with the least amount of effort. They have no incentive to try and be overly inclusive.
