I know that when you yawn it’s because your brain isn’t getting enough oxygen and forces you to take a deep breath, or “yawn” (or at least that’s what I’ve been told my whole life), it’s not because you’re tired. But if that’s the case, why do people only yawn when tired?? Half-baked thought and would love some input

To add to the previous answer, yawning doesn’t only happen when you’re tired. Lots of things can cause a yawn, from being tired, bored, nauseous, or even just merely by suggestion, I mean really, it’s hard not to yawn when you see someone yawn, or you are told something like “I bet you feel like yawning.” Or simply just seeing the word “yawn” repeatedly.
Enjoy the yawn fest!
