The benefits are the same as gambling. It provides an immediate reward at the cost of a compounding penalty later. By prioritizing your immediate self it forms the habit of procrastination, makes it harder to visualize long term goals. That is until the pain or anxiety escalate past the action line where you finally perform the action you avoided. By repeatedly hitting the snooze you are building up your tolerance of pain and anxiety increasing the threshold for your action line. This is the beginnings of short-term limited thinking and addiction.

Depends on your definition of a few minutes.

In addition, it also depends on your morning routine. Do you typically feel better after using the snooze and getting up? If you feel better then you’re benefiting.

As far as getting additional “sleep”, then it’s unlikely as it’s a complex process which requires varying amounts of time to benefit from.
