The blades are perpendicular to the wind. The wind hits all the blades, but all of that contact causes rotation in the same direction.

Think of how a fan works, with all the blades rotating to push air forward. And then run the process backward, with the air moving the blades. Exactly the same process, just reversed.

Edit: spelling.

The blades are angled, so a wind that hits them face on will push them sideways, causing them to rotate around the centre. The blade at the bottom is rotated 180° relative to the one at the top, so one will be pushed to the left and the other to the right, meaning they both rotate in the same direction around the centre.
