How do bacteria procreate?

In: Biology

Well, they don’t procreate like us to say. Since they’re cells, they prepare for a bit and just split into two bacteria, copies of the original. Cells build up resources and copy their DNA (so each of the two has a copy of it) and then split apart. There is a bit of evidence of bacteria exchanging DNA between each other, but most changes in the DNA code would come from errors in copying process, or mutations.
