Quasi-experimental vs. True-experimental?

I’ve been studying this for hours but I cannot just seem to get it around my head…

The key difference is that a quasi-experiment is not randomized. In a true experiment you use randomized controlled groups where anyone can be assigned to the study or control group at random. While a quasi experiment can determine exactly which participants will be in the study and control groups rather than random assignment. And can discriminate who is in the groups by implementing eligibility cutoffs.
