Historical negationism is the denial of historical crimes against humanity. It is the act of denying that certain events occurred, or that specific details of these events are true. This can be done on a large scale, such as denying the Holocaust occurred, or on a smaller scale, such as denying that a particular battle took place.

It’s like how a whole group of people simply skip over a person (or persons) culpability and efforts into a horrendous historical event like say the Atlantic Slave trade…because it makes their argument against the “expected” antagonist…weak.
