Why does dehydration often cause vomiting, if vomiting makes dehydration worse?

I’m not a biologist or a doctor or anything like that but sometimes vomiting takes place so that your body can rid itself of the metabolic demands of digestion. Not having to process food means the limited resources you have can be used elsewhere.

Dehydration itself doesn’t tend to cause vomiting, but things that cause vomiting can cause dehydration.

Dehydration>low blood pressure/high heart rate>brain thinks “shit, I’m being poisoned!”>nausea/vomiting

The human body has all kinds of dumb, reactionary responses.
